When I was younger I read about some of my namesake family predecessors in the book, “The Lost Trails of the Transvaal” by T.V. Bulpin. Bulpin (1918-1999), was a profilific travel writer credited with writing 29 books and over 2000 booklets, pamphlets, newspapers, magazine features, and travel videos on Africa. I recently searched for and acquired my own copy of this book via Amazon.com and scanned the page which contains the reference to “Wild Bill Leathern” and his encounter with a lion.
